This talk will cover some of the highlights of my newest book, Becoming the Motor City: A Timeline of Detroit’s Auto Industry, including Henry Ford’s two attempts to become an automaker before he started Ford Motor Company, the heavy-handed tactics General Motors used against Ralph Nader when he raised the alarm about auto safety, and some of the lesser-known facts surrounding local auto lore. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
